it still saddens me how unfortunate it was not to have been able to order a kit. but i decided that since i am scrapper, i will scrap my Project 365. :-) {yey}
and i am grateful for the free download over at Becky's. these will give my album a touch of Becky but what i am very glad about is that it will be a fun way of using up my scraps of patterned papers. {yes. use up all those boxes of scraps} :-)
and i wanted to share how i will go about my album.
*the binder on the left will hold my weekly pages. it is an old 10x8 3-ring binder. it already looks spent {which i totally love} but i still sanded the edges {for more drama, hihihi}*my pages are kraft cardstocks cut to a height of 8 inches and i folded the excess to create a flap
*i will arrange my weeks (a landscape of 2 pages) where the left page includes the flap
*and then, i will use the project 365 elements on every page but the twist is that because i am using cardstocks for my pages instead of divided page protectors, i will scrap each week using pictures, journaling cards (Becky's) and some flat embellies like ribbons, stickers and simply use my date stamps and words (mostly Ali Edwards' and technique tuesday's designs) to label my photos and journals
the only drawback i have with my alternative is that i need to work using a small space, so i decided to resize and collage my pictures using photoshop, include at least 1 picture a day and 1 journal. and for the days when i have really nothing to journal {or was not able to take pictures at all}, i bought fancy pants patterned papers with sentiments which i can cut up and use on my weekly pages.

got to put together the first 2 weeks pages today and even if it is just the start, i was in the verge of losing hope because by the time i get to 40 pages, my album will not be able to hold more. but i really am so excited to complete this {long term project} so i thought of a solution. i can compress 2 weeks in one page. {great idea, tna: hihihihi}. one problem solved. at least i know that my album doesn't have to be perfect so no matter if it has flaws, what's important is that i am documenting our life and this will be something that the 3 of us can look back at.
will share more pictures later. have a blessed Sunday everyone.
hi teena! you're taking part in project 365 too?? great! I have a companion then. been lugging my camera around as if it's a permanent fixture.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found an alternative for your project 365. I'm sure it will look as good as the kit. And hey, you definitely could use some of that old stash that's been hiding away for quite sometime now.
ReplyDeletethanks girls for dropping by and for sharing with me this special project. yes, jazzie. my camera is now like an extra limb. lol. good luck to us, jazzie. i'm really hoping that i'll complete this project.
