one...

...patterned paper and one cardstock. that's what it took me to make this layout. i have the patterned paper phobia [i just hate tearing apart my PPs because i prefer looking at them in one piece ;) ] hihi and not to mention that lack of ability to perfectly match patterned papers :-x ]

so i really feel good with the outcome. :-D got the inspiration when hubby sent me the meaning of our son's name. Joaquin means established by God while Paolo is a Latin name. this name means: variant of Paul: little; small. suitable only for boys.

i used a basic grey [you just fall in love with BG] stella ruby paper and a Core'dinations yellow cardstock. AC poolside thickers, felt shapes, bling and a ribbon.
[and i love how a one-year old Joaquin look so innocent and sweet on this shot]. i edited the picture giving it a painting-effect [photoshop really rocks]. TFL! :-)

why tnapay?

i was christened, baptized, dubbed {you take your pick :-D } by my college friends tnapay for fun. because they call me TNA and to get my so 'precious' attention, they would attach the -PAY at the end of my name. {imagine that said with a shrieking-kolehiyala giggle} :-)

tnapay {tinapay} means bread in our language. hhmmm... i love to bake but not necessarily breads so i doubt that there's a connection and i don't think it's the reason why the name stuck.
but i kinda like it and i am pretty sure that it'll stay. ;-)

now, i'll leave you with a simple picture i got from the net. :-D a blessed Sunday to all.

car pe diem

i remember my religion teacher in high school. she is one Benedictine nun who really has a great sense of humor. her class was so full of life that i look forward to each day we would meet her.

she'd give us exciting activities, would ask us to do our own plays, lets us watch movies to convey the lessons she wants us to learn as youngsters.

there is this movie that never really left my memory [until now, it has a great positive effect on me].

dead poets society. it stars robin williams, ethan hawke and robert sean leonard. what i really remember about this movie was what robin williams (an english professor) told his students. car pe diem. seize the day. live in each moment as if it were the last.

up to this day, i try to remember the lesson Sister Berna wanted us to learn when she had us watch dead poets society. it is one life advice that i will never forget. and i made a layout of it to remind me every day to simply savor THE moment.

and i just love how my son can always make me smile with such slick moves. you'll see him below cheering me on with his thumbs up to my layout. [we both love the color green, so anything that is in that color - we love]. TFL. :-)
